Commendation to Jaime Williams, Certified January Employee of the Month. Jaime is a Kindergarten Teacher at Bickel Elementary School. Jaime is from Mars, Pennsylvania, and was born to teach. From her earliest memories, she loved to read and do math. She used to read encyclopedias and make up her own math problems. She played school with her siblings and friends and she spent much of her elementary years being a “Teacher Stalker”. She loved to help them grade papers and follow them all over. She draws inspiration from every person she ever called teacher and taught with, they all influenced and inspired her. She is described as supportive and she would like to be remembered as someone who always offered love and support. Her best day on the job is every day even the hardest days because something magical happens. She feels lucky to have the privilege to be an elementary school teacher. She loves socializing with friends and family. She doesn’t have a bucket list because she prefers to live each day to its fullest. After all, you don’t know what the future holds. Principal Note: Mrs. Williams, our incredible kindergarten teacher, brings a smile to work every single day, lighting up the school with her positivity and warmth. Always supportive, she goes above and beyond to uplift her students and colleagues, offering a listening ear and thoughtful advice whenever it’s needed. Know for her quick wit and sense of humor, Mrs. Williams never fails to share a funny story or amusing thought, brightening everyone’s day and reminding us all of the joy in teaching and learning.

Kudos to Michael Duke, January Classified Employee of the Month. Michael is the Head Custodian at Bickel Elementary Michael is originally from Hansen Idaho and he likes to spend time with his wife outdoors, hiking, fishing, and riding ATVs. He says that he didn’t choose his career it chose him and his best day on the job is any day nothing goes wrong. One thing people do not know about him is that he has a master’s degree in information security and graduated with honors! Principal Note: Mr. Duke, our dedicated custodian, plays an essential role in keeping our school running smoothly and efficiently. Compliments to Jenny Shaw, Certified Employee of the Month for January! Jenny is a counselor at Pillar Falls Elementary. Jenny’s hometown is Buhl and she likes reading, crocheting, playing online games, and going for drives in nature. She would someday like to travel as much as she can. Few people know that when she was in high school he was an exchange student in the Netherlands. She decided to be a counselor because she wants kids to have a safe person to talk to about anything! She draws her inspiration from knowing that even kiddos need someone to confide in safely and her pet peeve is when adults do not give kids a chance to have their say. She wants to be remembered as a kind person who is accepting of everyone. Her best day on the job is when she can see a student advocate for themselves by respectfully and calmly telling others what they need. Principal Note: Jenny is an amazing counselor and I don’t know what we would do without her! She is kind, caring, and always willing to help anyone in need. Our students trust her and feel comfortable going to her with their problems. She jumps into help whenever she can and she makes our school a better place. We adore her and feel so lucky to have her on our staff!

Do you think you're child's teacher is amazing? Has that teacher impacted your child and your family by going above and beyond? Here in the TFSD we are lucky to have an Education Foundation that helps recognize our outstanding educators. To do this, they organized a Teacher of the Month program that named one elementary teacher and one secondary teacher for this honor. If you know a great educator, please take a moment to nominate them for this honor. The nomination application is open now and can be accessed here: https://forms.gle/PE1ez3kuFwBN77rW6
