We are so proud to partner with you in this exciting and formative time in your child’s life. You can register for kindergarten right now through the website. Or if you want to register in person you can go to your child’s school the week of April 22nd. The faculty and staff will be ready to answer any questions you have about registration and kindergarten in general. Each elementary school will also have an open house that week. See information below about open houses.
Is It Time to Register My Child for Kindergarten?
If your child will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2024 then it’s time to register for kindergarten!
What will my child learn in kindergarten?
In the Twin Falls School District, we individualize instruction to meet each child’s needs. In general, kindergartners learn language skills like the alphabet, letter sounds, how to blend letters, and read, math skills like counting, adding, subtracting, patterns, shapes, and so much more. Our kindergarten teachers also provide engaging science and social studies lessons as well as lessons that help students understand how to work/play with others, participate in class, and how to be successful in school. We are proud to offer full-day kindergarten where students not only learn necessary academic skills but also learn important life skills through play based learning.
Is there an open house I can attend?
Yes! Each elementary school will have its open house the week of April 22nd. You can learn when your school’s open house is in the table below.
What will I need to register my child?
You will need to provide a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records or immunization exemptions, and proof of residency (current utility bill, rental agreement, house sales agreement) during the registration process.
Which school will my child go to?
Great question! Each school has a designated attendance zone. The primary residence (address) of the child’s parent or legal guardian determines the school the student attends. You can learn what school your child will attend by referencing our School Zones Map or contact the district office at 208-733-6900 for the name and address of the school your child will attend.
